Hot on the heels of Gold at the World Beverage Competition in Florida, Prenzel’s Limoncello and Southern Star Vodka were each awarded another gold medal at the World Spirits Awards in Austria. The celebrating hardly had time to wind down when another Gold for their Vodka was announced at the Monde Selection in Brussels.
Most companies would be excited about the Silver and Bronze medals Espresso has secured but these awards have been rather overshadowed by the achievements of the relatively new Vodka and Limoncello.
Judges comments for the limoncello liqueur included a “pure lemon juice fragrance, with an intense taste, a lot of freshness, delicate tartness and a very stimulating full-bodies and lengthy finish.” While the Vodka has a “fresh style with a touch of citrus and mint, a strong body, somewhat edgy and stimulating.”
Each of these competitions have strict judging criteria with the World Spirits Award specialists being trained from scratch by the WSA in order to even be considered to judge at the event.
